Guild Quality

What makes a guild strong? High level members, Members with Good Equipment, and of course, having a good number of members are. Although that determines a guild strength, it does not determine the quality of a guild.

If you ask me whats more important, then I will have to say guild quality. Although a guild's power makes it dominant in the eyes of many, having guild quality means much more to me. Why? Because it makes a guild last forever. It makes a guild's atmosphere and enviroment, fun and enjoyable. But most importantly, it makes the members within the guild more like friends and family, than just a bunch of characters piled together in the same guild to "dominate".

We've seen from the past what happens to guilds that are simply out there to be the best, or to have the strongest members. Guilds such as that don't last. I won't mention any names, but I'm sure, no matter what game you've been in, you've seen this happen.

Collision, since day 1 of open beta, or hell, since it's creation in Closed Beta, has been at the top. Why is that? Why is it that, Collision has remained strong since the beginning, whereas other guilds have died, or reformed? This is because Collision has kept a fine balance of Strength and Unity since its beginning.

The members weren't just grinders, but they were friends, and who created Collision with me. We put our time and effort to put up a guild. And we sure as hell would do anything we can to keep our combined efforts to last. And that we did. By doing so, we'd teach new recruits who joined the same thing, and it'd keep a cycle going. That's how core members are created, and that is how a guild is kept alive. But lately, the core members have dissappeared. Along with them, the values and beliefs we all shared. However, although that's a sad thing, I've been honored to have met new members, who I hope will take time to listen to what I have to say.

A guild isn't just some group to be apart of, we're all friends. And with that, we all need to know what it means to be a quality guild member. Does this mean you have to super grind 10 more levels, or get all your armor to +9? No, this is something everyone can, and I absolutely INSIST that you do. They're little things, to big things. But they all have a positive affect not only to the guild and yourself, but to those witnessing it.

1) Say Hello. That's right, a simple hello or "wb" whenever someone logs in does alot. It's similar to Real life, where a smile and a hello can make someones day. Its the same here, it'll make members feel welcomed and acknowledged, instead of logging in to silence or everyone not paying any attention to you.

2) Leave no one neglected Again, small gestures such as letting someone know that you're listening does alot. If someone asks a question, what I see people do is just turn the other cheek. Maybe they're busy, or maybe they don't know the answer. Both are reasonable. However, it makes the person asking the question feel ignored. A simple "No, I don't know" or, "Sorry, I can't help right now, I'm grinding", is a big difference from utter silence. If you see someone asking for a party, and no one is responding? Say something, anything. "Looks like everyones partied atm", or offer to find them a party. Just respond.

3) Offer to help We all know you're busy people. However, offer to help a guildmember once in a while. This'll promote a friendship between you two, and they'll be more likely to offer their help to you in the future.

4) Kindness is Contagious Be kind. It'll inspire others to act the same way. This is how I play. By being nice, it makes others do the same thing. This is how our values of being a good guild member catches on.

5) Befriend your members Be friends with your members and not just plain members. Get to know them more. It'll not only help them, but it'll help you as well because you'll have another friend to be there for you when need it.

6) Genuine and Sincere Care for the guild's wellbeing I believe this is my main thing. And because its what I personally focus on, it has rubbed off on alot of our members, and they end up feeling a sense of loyalty and dedication to the guild. So, basically do your part to be the best guildie you can be. You have friends in the guild who you get along great with? Suggest him/her to the guild, and try to get him/her into the guild. I'm 100% sure that each member has atleast 1 friend not in the guild who can be if they put some effort, and who'd be a perfection addition to our family.

Right now, to alot of you, it seems like it's just another guild. But it's not. Understand without members and friends, the guild is just a name. If you're reading up to this point, it means that I have personally shown you this thread. And this means that I trust you. I trust for you to carry out the same values that all the other veteran members are striving for. In the end, if we all work together, we can bring back that atmosphere has once had.
